Baby full month or Manyue is when your pearl reaches one month old. When a baby reaches 1 month, the baby will live a long life. In the past, the one month mark is a very big milestone in life and the whole village celebrates. The most influential mid-wife use to be the wife of the head village or a medicine woman. She will perform a special thanksgiving ceremony. The parents then will bestow sweet full month gift.
This tradition of bestowing sweet gifts continues today. In the gift, the parents write a short message of their heartfelt gratitude. In historical times, there will be a village scribe that help the parents craft that special message. Unfortunately today, the scribe has been replaced by Siri (Apple) or Alexa (Android).
